When LinkedIn Feels Like a Game You Can’t Win

by | Sep 11, 2025 | Linkedin Profile | 0 comments

Some days it feels like a game you didn’t ask to play. Other days, it’s a gladiator arena — full of noise, competition, and invisible rules about what will win attention.

You see influencers go viral with 1,000+ comments… Meanwhile, your carefully crafted post gets 44 impressions. You follow LinkedIn experts. You try their strategies. And still — crickets.

You enter the loop:
Spark → effort → silence → doubt → pull back → guilt → repeat.

Let’s be honest: a lot of what performs well on LinkedIn is content about LinkedIn.

  • Comment strategies
  • Algorithm hacks
  • Profile tips

It’s LinkedIn trainers selling LinkedIn training… to people who want to get better at LinkedIn. On LinkedIn. They’re fishing in a lake full of hungry fish.

But if your work is nuanced, relational, or hard to explain in one sentence — that strategy might leave you exhausted and wondering what you’re doing wrong.

So how do you show up in a way that gets results — without burning out?

1️⃣ Comment with Intention, Not Desperation

Not to chase reach. Not because someone told you to. Commenting — done well — is thought leadership. It shows how you think. Where you stand. Who you stand with.

2️⃣ Build a Strategic Network

Low engagement? You might not be connected to enough of the right people. LinkedIn favours newer connections. Grow your network intentionally. More of the right people = more of the right visibility.

3️⃣ Focus on Who You’re Here For

This isn’t about racking up vanity metrics. It’s about precision, real relationships, and deep relevance. When you know your audience, every move becomes more effective.

4️⃣ Make Your Profile Do the Heavy Lifting

You’ve commented. You’ve connected. They’re curious. Your profile needs to:

  • Show the problem you solve
  • Show how you solve it
  • Show why you’re the one to trust

If it looks messy, unclear, or generic — they’re gone.

The Shift

You don’t need to go viral. You need to become a signal.

  • Clear
  • Focused
  • Resonant with the right people
