This is an inspired use of Social Selling. It’ll have you wanting to ‘like’ the Screen Shot

It really doesn’t take much explanation, but in my opinion, this is an inspired use of Social Selling.

In this post, Oliver has invited people to ‘tag a friend’ who are having a party that they think should hire The Cocktail Care Company. The result is 339 comments and 2249 likes in just one day. It won’t stop there either.

When each of those people clicked ‘like’ or wrote a comment, it will have appeared in the feed of those they are connected to. Exposing it again to their network. Let’s break this down.

If on average, each person has 200 connections that is 399 comments seen by 399 x200 = 79,800 potential eyeballs and growing daily.

Plenty of leads for no investment.

The picture is bright, fun, shows exactly what they do and the description gives you the detail. For those organising a party, wedding or event, having a  guest suggest you hire these guys lets you know they would enjoy it and adds an extra level to the fun.

Outright pitching on LinkedIn or any social media platform is never a good idea. In fact, doing so is known as a ‘pitch slap’. Something to be avoided. However, the injection of fun, tone of voice used and its inclusive nature has created the perfect mix

However, as TheProfile.Company, I have to point out that his actual profile does nothing to help the cause. If people have been referred (via the tag) and are curious, they’ll likely want to know more and click on his profile. They aren’t going to learn much about him. Since people buy people – and love a good entrepreneurial story – Oliver is really missing a trick!

Note, a good profile will help answer queries from your prospects and help them in their buying decision, so those that do phone through are ready to buy. A much better use of your time!

Here are a few other great posts I’ve recently captured. Look at the number of likes and comments. When reading, note your own response to what is written. In future posts I’ll be dissecting exactly why they are so good.
